About IIT Bombay

The Institute of Technology in India (IIT) Bombay was founded in 1958 in Powai, Mumbai (which used to be called Bombay), with money from outside India. It was the second IIT in all of India. IIT Bombay Location

The institute is in the Mumbai neighbourhood of Powai (Bombay). There are buses, trains, and flights that go to and from the campus to the city of Mumbai. Central Railway students can get to IIT Bombay by getting off at Kanjur Marg, Vikhroli, or Ghatkopar. If you are taking the Western Railway, the closest stops are Andheri, Bandra, Goregaon, or Malad. IIT Bombay Admissions
