About IIT Indore

The Indian Institute of Technology, Indore was founded in 2009. The government institute is one of eight new IITs launched by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (India). IIT Indore initially operates under the mentorship of IIT Bombay, with its temporary campus located at Devi Ahilyabai University’s Engineering and Technology Institute. In February 2016, IIT Indore relocated to its permanent campus in Simrol. The campus is 501 acres in size and has a plethora of facilities. IIT Indore is ranked 13th in the engineering category and 26th in the research category in the NIRF Ranking 2021. In addition, the institute was ranked 30th in the overall category by NIRF Ranking 2021.

The college offers 42 courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. The institute provides B.Tech, dual degree, M.Sc., MS, M.Tech., and Ph.D. programmes. IIT Indore has signed several international and national memorandums of understanding with prestigious institutions. The college offers students the opportunity to participate in exchange programmes with universities in Germany, Japan, Thailand, Australia, France, Italy, and Belgium, among others. Aside from that, the Indian Institute of Technology, Indore helps students with job placements and hosts a variety of workshops, mock tests, seminars, and other events to prepare them.

IIT Indore Location

Madhya Pradesh is the permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Indore. It is located approximately 25 kilometres from the city of Indore and spans 501 acres along the Khandwa Road in Simrol. The college is 35 kilometres from the Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport and 28 kilometres from the Indore Junction Railway Station. The Navlakha Bus Station, located approximately 22.6 kilometres from the college, is the closest bus depot.

Admission to the college is available at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. Entrance exams are used to determine admission to IIT Indore. Candidates seeking admission to IIT Indore’s B.Tech and M.Tech programmes must have a valid JEE Advanced and GATE score. JAM scores are taken into account by IIT Indore for M.Sc. admissions. IIT Indore Scholarships
