The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad, also known as IIT Hyderabad, was founded in 2008 by the Central Government of India. The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad is located on IIT Hyderabad Main Road, Sangareddy, Kandi, Telangana, near NH-65. Begumpet Airport is the closest airport to the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad. It is approximately 47 kilometres from the campus. The university is about 23.4 kilometres away from the nearest railway station, Shankarpalli Railway Station, and the IIT Hyderabad is about 8 kilometres away from the Old Bus Stand.

IIT Hyderabad Admissions

Admission to B.Tech/B.E programmes at Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad will be based on JEE Advanced scores, and applicants eligible for JEE Advanced must also register with the Joint Seat Allocation Authority for JoSAA counselling to participate in choice filling, choice locking, and seat allocation. Admission to postgraduate courses at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad will be based on students’ performance in entrance examinations, followed by a counselling process.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad Scholarships

  • Concerning IITH Scholarships, the university offers the following awards:
  • MCM Scholarship- Merit-cum-means (MCM) scholarships are for students who have demonstrated meritorious academic success while also coming from a low-income family.
  • Institute SC/ST Scholarship- All students of the SC/ST caste will receive free messing and boarding, as well as a monthly pocket money of Rs. 250. Their parents’ annual income should be less than Rs 4.5 lakhs. The candidate must have a CGPA of at least 6.0.
  • Institute Free Studentship Scholarship- The grant for free studentship will be valid for those with annual parental income of less than Rs 5 lakhs in the General category and Rs 8 lakhs in the OBC category.
