Banaras Engineering College, the predecessor to IIT BHU, was founded by Madan Mohan Malviya in 1919. The name was changed to the Indian Institute of Technology later, in 2012. NCL-IIT (BHU) Incubation Centre: This is an organisation within the institution that promotes entrepreneurship and the development of technology start-ups.
